1) Twenty Indian personnel, including a Commanding Officer (CO) Colonel, were killed in violent clashes with Chinese troops on 16 June 2020. This was the worst incident between the two countries since 1975. The clashes took place at which area of Ladakh? – Galwan (The violent face-off between and Indian and Chinese troops took place during the de-escalation process underway in the Galwan Valley near Galwan River in the Indian territory and resulted in 20 casualties on Indian side and even more on Chinese side. Chinese troops entered into Indian territory and used iron clubs and rocks to attack Indian troops. Chinese soldiers scurried for safety as Indian soldiers mounted a massive attack in which China lost at-least 35 of their soldiers including a commanding officer. India lost 20 soldiers including Colonel B. Santosh Babu the commanding officer of the company of Bihar Regiment. This is the first time that casualties were reported from both sides in a violent scuffle since 1975)
