1) The 11th Summit of BRICS nations was held on13-14 November 2019 at which place? – Brasilia, Brazil (The 2019 Summit of 5-nation BRICS group was held from on 13 and 14 November 2019 at Brazilian capital Brasilia. Prime Minister Narendra Modi represented India in the Summit. The theme of this 11th Summit was “BRICS: economic growth for an innovative future”. The host country Brazil was represented by President Jair Bolsonaro while Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa represented their countries in the Summit. 2) In its historic ruling the Supreme Court on 9 November 2019 ordered that the a temple dedicated to Lord Ram be constructed at the disputed holy site of Ayodhya while 5 acre land at another plot should be given to build a mosque. This ruling thus brought an end to centuries old Ayodhya dispute. In the ruling the Supreme Court rejected suit filed by which Hindu body claiming it to be party to the issue? – Nirmohi Akhara (In the historic Supreme Court judgement of 9 November 2019 the apex ordered the Government of India to create a trust to build a temple and a Board of Trustees within three months. The Court ordered the entire disputed land of area of 2.77 acres to be allocated for the construction of a temple while an alternative piece of land of area of 5 acres be allocated to the Sunni Waqf Board for the construction of a mosque within Ayodhya. It also ruled that the suit filed by Nirmohi Akhara could not be upheld. However, the court ruled that Nirmohi Akhara should be given appropriate representation in the Board of Trustees that will be created by the Government of India.
