10) The Union Finance Minister on 21 September 2019 announced steep reduction in corporate taxes with the view to enthuse the sagging economy. The government is incurring how much expenditure on this? – Rs. 1,45,000 crore (Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reduced corporate tax from 35% to 22% (effective rate 25.17%) for all existing domestic companies while for new manufacturing companies corporate tax was reduced to 15% (effective rate 17.01%). The total revenue forgone on account of today's measures would be Rs 1.45 trillion (Rs. 1,45,000 crore per year)
