1) The 14th Summit of Group of 20 (G20) nations was held on 28-29 June 2019 in which Japanese city? – Osaka (The 2019 Summit f G20 nations was held on 28-29 June 2019 in Japan’s Osaka. This was the 14th edition of the Group and was held at the International Exhibition Centre in the city. Prime Minister Narendra Modi represented India at the Summit and he raised the issue of terrorism vehemently. G20 is the group of 19 of the countries and the European Union which collectively account for around 90% of the gross world product and around two-third of the world population. It was formed in September 1999. Why? – She became the first Indian civil servant and IPS officer to complete the 'Seven Summits' Challenge (Uttar Pradesh cadre IPS officer Aparna Kumar wrote her name in history books as she became the first civil servant and IPS officer to complete the “Seven Summits” Challenge. This challenge includes scaling the highest mountains from each of the seven continents. Kumar hoisted India's tricolour on Mount Denali (20,310 ft) in Alaska, US, the highest peak of North America. She scaled the summit in her third attempt. Aparna is presently Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP))
